Where is The Chef's Garden located?

The Chef’s Garden farm is located at 9009 Huron-Avery Road in Huron, Ohio about 3 miles from the shores of Lake Erie.

Can I buy products from The Chef's Garden for my home year-round?

With the help of our state of the art green houses, our team here at The Chef’s Garden is able to grow and harvest our products 12 months a year allowing for our vegetables to be available for you year round.

What kind of products can I expect in my order?

The Chef’s Garden prides itself in providing you with the best, seasonal products available at the time you order. We believe in eating vegetables when they are in season which provides you with the best tasting, most nutritious products!

Each order will provide you and your family with a wonderful sampling of the best products and multiple varieties. For example, you can expect to receive a bunch of mixed heirloom carrot varieties – yellow, purple, dragon, and round orange – in your box when they’re in season.

When do you ship? When can I expect to receive my order?

We ship Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Orders received between 4 p.m. Tuesday, and 4 p.m. Friday, will ship on the following Monday. Orders received between 4 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Monday, will ship Tuesday. Orders received by 4 p.m. Tuesday, will ship the next day, Wednesday.

Do I have to sign up for a CSA 6-month subscription? Is that the only option?

No, you do not have to sign up for a 6-month CSA subscription. You may order just one box (or more) as many times and whenever you would like.

How does your 6-month CSA subscription work?

We have Farmer Jones’ 6-month CSA subscription available. And you can opt to order either the smaller box, our Couple’s Heirloom Box or the larger box, the Family Heirloom Box. Sign-up for the 6-month CSA subscription and get a 10% discount on the price of your monthly veggie box. You will receive one box per month for 6 months. Shipping is an additional charge and based on destination

Once you have ordered your 6-month CSA subscription, we will send you an e-mail and tell you when to expect your box every month. If you know that you will not be home to enjoy the vegetables on any of the dates provided, just send us an e-mail and let us know how we can adjust the delivery for you.

How will I receive my order?

We ship Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Orders received between 4 p.m. Tuesday, and 4 p.m. Friday, will ship on the following Monday. Orders received between 4 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Monday, will ship Tuesday. Orders received by 4 p.m. Tuesday, will ship the next day, Wednesday.

If you feel like a drive in the country, your order is available for pick-up at The Chef’s Garden farm on Saturdays between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon

We are located at 9009 Huron-Avery Road in Huron, Ohio 44839.

Just pull in and follow the signs to our pick-up area.

Just place your order online and select the option for "pick-up" Your order will be waiting for you. However, please remember all pick-up orders must be entered and received by 4 p.m. on the preceding Tuesday.

Any of our boxes are available for pick-up. But we have selected a few of Farmer Jones’ Special Boxes that are available ONLY for pick-up and cannot be shipped. These must be ordered online as well, and can only be picked up.

Will I be able to identify the products that I receive?

For your convenience, we have provided photos and names of the products on our website. Please check it out.

Will I know how to prepare some of the products?

You will find many helpful and delicious recipes on our website. Also, we invite you to browse through our Videos and see some of our nationally-renowned chefs preparing some great dishes.

Is The Chef's Garden organic?

Here at the Garden we are committed to providing better-tasting products while putting nutrients back into the soil naturally making sure we replace the good nutrients with the good and do our best to eliminate the bad. We want to protect our farmlands now and well into our children’s futures.”

Do you sell seeds?

We do not sell seeds or plants. All of our vegetables are grown “slowly and gently in full accord with nature” -- taking all of the hard work out of if for you!

Does The Chef's Garden have a Food Safety program in place?

The Chef's Garden sustainable family farm is committed to food safety to protect our customers and our customers' customers. We want you to feel comfortable knowing the products you order are grown, harvested and packaged with your guests' safety in mind. Annual performance reviews from state and national food and agriculture inspectors continually return Superior food safety ratings.
